All in the Family featured the curmudgeonly Archie Bunker. Archie was television’s most famous grouch, blunt, blustering, straightforward and untouched by the PC crowd. He was the archetype of the conservative male. Michael desprately tried to reeducate him, but he persisted in his breviloquence.

Looking back at the last 40 years, we realize: ARCHIE WAS RIGHT!

Because its Bettter Here

From K2 News in Casper:
Several Wyoming lawmakers are proposing legislation designed to protect gun-owners from any potential federal firearm ban. The “Firearms Protection Act” bill, introduced this week, would make any federal law banning semi-automatic firearms or limiting the size of gun magazines unenforceable within the state’s boundaries.

Yes my friends it is better here.  If they get it out of the house the Governor will likely sign it.

In other news:

Women saves the the day with gun in her lunch box.
Investigators say just before 1:00 AM, two African American males entered the Quality Inn at the corner of North Poplar and F Streets in Casper, with their faces concealed.
One of the suspects told the clerk it was a hold-up, making a gun gesture with his hand.  The clerk then pulled a gun from her lunchbox and pointed it at the suspects, who then fled.

Women stops robbery.
On Saturday, December 3rd at the Modern Nails salon in the Hilltop Shopping Center, police say an African-American male entered the business and asked if anyone wanted to buy some diamonds.
In both cases the crooks were black and the hero's were white women.  Remember that the next time a black man wants you to give up your guns, especially if he lives in a white house.  If you come for a visit you might want to remember to say ma'am to any ladies you happen to speak to, they might be packing heat.

    RE: women with guns

I was talking to my daughter last night about the possibility of getting her real estate license and becoming a realtor. I told her if she did, she had better get her CCW license, first.

She turns 21 this year. Will be getting her a handgun for her birthday, just as I did for her brother. Any recommendations for a good handgun for a young woman's purse?

I had her shoot various calibers from a .22 to a .44mag and she was able to handle everything up to a .357 just fine, though even that was on the very upper end of the scale for her liking. Was leaning toward a 9mm, but open to suggestions.

  2. Sorry I've been off line due to internet problems.

Check out a Sig P-938. It has two available styles of mags. The first is flush with the bottom of the mag well and is great for smaller hands. The second has a extension on the mag that makes it eaiser to control if your hand is bigger. The gun is a single action semi auto in 9mm. It is easy to shoot and control. Another bonus is that it has night sights. Expect to spend in the $650 to $700 range. This may seem like a lot but the quality is worth it.

It weighs less than a lb and she would have no problem carrying on her person everyday.

Thanks man, I'll give it a look.

In the "guns and schools" debate, here's how our local sheriff feels about it: Sheriff offers firearms training for teachers, administrators. He's even going to waive the CCW permit fee for them.

And here's your daily buck: MAGNIFICENT BUCK A VICTIM OF LOVE. Note the "before" and "after" shot of his antlers.

  4. Thats a nice deer.

Lots of places have been jumping on the free training for teachers band wagon. I think its good, but I'm not sure how many of them will do it.

    Good stuff Res,

I have avoided getting my concealed carry here in Iowa because I didn't want on the lists, and was pushing hard for Constitutional Carry. I helped get a personal friend elected this fall to the Iowa Senate, (he believes in Constitutional Carry) but the Repukes failed to regain control of the State Senate. Therefore Con Carry will never make it to through the legislative process.

So I went to the sheriffs office on Friday, and asked about getting my permit. The sheriff asked me if I had a permit before, which I did 17 years ago, he said that was good enough for him, and will issue my new permit in a couple of days.

  6. At least they are being reasonable with you on the process.

WYO is con carry. I still have the permit even though its not needed. My permit is good when I go out of state so I keep it. It also lets you bypass the FBI check when you buy a gun from a dealer. So there are other reasons for having one.
