All in the Family featured the curmudgeonly Archie Bunker. Archie was television’s most famous grouch, blunt, blustering, straightforward and untouched by the PC crowd. He was the archetype of the conservative male. Michael desprately tried to reeducate him, but he persisted in his breviloquence.

Looking back at the last 40 years, we realize: ARCHIE WAS RIGHT!

Computers-BJW

As a high functioning dyslexic, computers with word processing and spell checker have been a messing.

Auto correct however has become my own worst enema.

I have been finding that after I type what I want, I give it another scan because I too seem to be losing the talent of typing while thinking. I can only imagine your kindly smartassery if you could see some of my unproofed stuff. (grin)

It's like they only put out 1/2 an app. Without the grammar part of it, the spelling correction is next to useless the majority of the time.

  2. Forcing myself to blog a little each day has helped me to retain some language skills. It's funny because in Jr. and High school we had to write out papers by hand, so the focus was on being as brief as possible. I took typing in 10th grade and after that I used an electronic typewriter for my papers. After college my penmanship (never very good) and composition declined.
