You just don't notice because the Army has its own factory. We use a lot more in training prior to sending units into theater than they will actually use while there. The problem is who the ammo is going to.

Remember this;
We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.
-Barack Obama, 2009

http://www.dhs.gov/blog/2012/03/14/announcing-creation-fema-corps

With this new thing, and all the other newly expanded DHS divisions, we're talking about a lot of people, like about half a million people (just by sheer coincidence I'm sure, this is about how big the US Army is). If all of them burn through two thousand rounds during weapons training then a few billion rounds is about right.

So. What would the Army be like without an officer corps? We're about to find out.

-BillAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22583491.post-82031901875413040172013-04-21T01:18:58.509-06:002013-04-21T01:18:58.509-06:00Yeah Yeah.

...Yeah Yeah.

How many people are there in the US?

Less than 400 million. 1.6 billion is enough to kill everyone several times over. By international law hollow points can only be used on your own people.Res Ipsahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16433725505878267643noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22583491.post-21555190794416812392013-04-20T18:24:58.822-06:002013-04-20T18:24:58.822-06:00Just to clarify; the only time the military used t...Just to clarify; the only time the military used that much ammo was during the taking of Baghdad. So, during the time with the most shooting the military was using about 70 million rounds a year. At 70 million rounds a year, how long does 1.6 billion rounds last? Only 22 years, nine months, and about two weeks. So, like a typical right-winger, Res is grossly exaggerating with his "25 year" claim. But Iraq is only as big as Nebraska and Kansas. Nothing to see here citizen, move along....

-BillAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22583491.post-34540211066080869782013-04-20T10:42:22.754-06:002013-04-20T10:42:22.754-06:00If gun control went through you can bet that ammo ...If gun control went through you can bet that ammo control would have been next on the list and the ammount available on the private market would have been effectivly dried up.Res Ipsahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16433725505878267643noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22583491.post-40957367414193438492013-04-20T09:11:47.571-06:002013-04-20T09:11:47.571-06:00It makes no sense to try to corner the ammo market...It makes no sense to try to corner the ammo market...
