As has been pointed out to me, I don’t have a clue about how to set up the whole blog thing. It might surprise you to know that I was already aware of this.
All in the Family featured the curmudgeonly Archie Bunker. Archie was television’s most famous grouch, blunt, blustering, straightforward and untouched by the PC crowd. He was the archetype of the conservative male. Michael desprately tried to reeducate him, but he persisted in his breviloquence.
Looking back at the last 40 years, we realize: ARCHIE WAS RIGHT!

Haloscan is pretty easy to setup and use, but the blogger comments seem to be coming along well. It's up to you.
ReplyDeleteIt has been my experience that haloscan comments are the easiest for visitors to leave comments in. Most people don't like having to log in to something just to leave comments on someone's blog.
Now, as for setting up Haloscan, they give you pretty detailed instructions on their site. You have to copy and paste some code that they give you in your blogger template. Once you do that, you're good to go.
Res, I am a computer Duffer. If you golf, you'll know that means I'm not real good. I was able to set up Haloscan and have it work splendidly. I even figured how to add links on my own. Still trying to figure out adding a picture. Strange. Anyway, judging by your comments on Vox's blog, you're way smarter than I, so I know you can do it.
ReplyDeleteRes,
ReplyDeleteI prefer Haloscan and they have an autoinstall feature for Blogger so it's very easy to set up. Their spam filter is excellent also so there is no need for sign in and word verification.
Oh yeah, they do have that autoinstall thing. You give them your blogger login info and haloscan goes in and adds the code for you.
ReplyDeleteIf you do it, make sure to turn off the blogger comments first.
Haloscan is idiot proof... as demonstrated by the fact that JAC figured it out.
ReplyDeleteHoloscan.
ReplyDeleteI Prefer Haloscan, but this is your blog. I'll come either way.
ReplyDeletePlease go with Haloscan.

I like haloscan but it's your call.
ReplyDeleteI was once told that "Archie" was an invention of the ultra liberals who were using the TV character to "expose" the racist, sexist, homophobic attitudes of the typical
American male.
It backfired on them, as history show,s but never forget that Carroll O'Conner (Archie) was one of them... still is.
Seems unanimous - I, too, like HaloScan better.
