All in the Family featured the curmudgeonly Archie Bunker. Archie was television’s most famous grouch, blunt, blustering, straightforward and untouched by the PC crowd. He was the archetype of the conservative male. Michael desprately tried to reeducate him, but he persisted in his breviloquence.

Looking back at the last 40 years, we realize: ARCHIE WAS RIGHT!

It Has Happened

The in-laws have arrived for Easter and a couple of weeks of grandkid time.  The kids are loving it.

Blogging will be light as I lose access to my home PC.  Latter, blogging will be light due to me losing my mind.

  1. We just moved into a house that's too small to host guests unless they want to sleep on the wood floor.

The grandparents never visited enough or long enough to justify having extra space.

My in laws are good folks. I just enjoy not having other people in my house for long periods of time.

As long as this couple of weeks only happens once a year, you are good. Believe me, I say that even though I have the greatest in-laws nature ever invented.

Nice thing is, if you want to do something special with the wife, you have to very eager built in babysitters for a day or two.

10-15 years from now, if you ask them to tell you about their favorite childhood memories, I bet these visits rank way up there. There are just some childhood memories that only a grandparent can make with the grandkids.
