Police say the female driver believed the cat was seriously injured or dead and placed it in her van just after midnight on Wednesday morning.
But while driving the cat became alert and she realized it was a bobcat.The article doesn't say it but I think the women's first clue was the 40lb cat was trying to claw her eyes out. I can only wonder if the women who did this is my cousin. Seriously, she lives in Bangor and she always had a soft spot for animals.

Sorry I forgot the link to the story. The cops declined to give the woman's name to the news. BTW: Tracy's husband is a cop, in Bangor. I've got a call into an uncle to see if I can find out who the women is.
I'm sure nothing bad happened to her. Quite often these people that try to help the poor little viscous animals come out without a scratch. Must be a patron saint of animal stupidity.

ReplyDeleteNotable exceptions were the woman who was mauled by a bull while trying to stop the running of them in Pamplona, and the guy who was killed by a kodiak in Alaska while studying them.
I tend to think of incidents like those as "poetic justice".
