All in the Family featured the curmudgeonly Archie Bunker. Archie was television’s most famous grouch, blunt, blustering, straightforward and untouched by the PC crowd. He was the archetype of the conservative male. Michael desprately tried to reeducate him, but he persisted in his breviloquence.

Looking back at the last 40 years, we realize: ARCHIE WAS RIGHT!

  1. Three feet of snow is just a bit much. One foot is actually pretty nice; sledding is good, skiing is good, and it only takes a day to get the roads clear. Two feet is OK, it takes a few days to get the roads clear, but it's not bad. Three feet - nope nope nope.

  2. The penguin joke sounds like something from my childhood. That one would have been good for some serious treats at my grandparents house.

Where are you at Bill? I know my kids would hate the commute, but I would love a foot of snow at my house for a couple of days.

God's natural muffler makes everything look so beautiful. I never understood the passage in the NT where Jesus said if people weren't there to sing praises to God, then the very earth would do it.

Have you ever noticed how the silence is so deafening when you are in a rural area after a good snowfall covers everything?

I never realized how noisy and joysome that God's creation is every single day until I walked out on our rural property about 10 years ago after a snowfall.
