All in the Family featured the curmudgeonly Archie Bunker. Archie was television’s most famous grouch, blunt, blustering, straightforward and untouched by the PC crowd. He was the archetype of the conservative male. Michael desprately tried to reeducate him, but he persisted in his breviloquence.

Looking back at the last 40 years, we realize: ARCHIE WAS RIGHT!

My Pick

Obama is never going to nominate someone to the Supreme Court that would actually be good for the country.  He has already proven that.  The best we can hope for is the Republicans in the Senate will stone wall him and not confirm his appointment.

I've been seeing these kinds of political cartoons popping up.

Ha! Ha!  Trump is such a rube he'd nominate Judge Judy if he was in charge.  Ha! Ha!  Judge Judy would still do a better job than anyone Obama would select.

That last one is more telling.  If the Republican's confirm Obama's pick we'll know the real motivation.  It will be proof positive that there is no discernible difference between the Republican elite and the Democrats.

Wouldn't it be great if Obama -- who is concerned about his lasting legacy -- actually nominated a full-bore Constitutionalist, just to appease the Republicans and win him some goodwill?

    *sigh*

Yeah, I know...but it's a good thought on which to fall asleep.

Res, the charge leveled against Trump that I keep seeing is that he would nominate his sister the judge to the SC.

I think right now, McConnell is weighing factors. He is trying to decide if we voters will really follow through on our threats to kick a lot of keisters out of Congress come November. That is one problem I suspect he does not want to be blamed for.

I think they could have gotten away with not blocking Obama's nomination this year if they hadn't pulled their atrocious and brazen behavior after the 2014 midterms. They have no more political capital left to spend with the voters.

I am wondering how many are going to be "Cantored" come November.

  3. I'd love to see Roy More nominated. That would go along with WB's comment. If the Republicans stab the base in back with the Court, they deserve to be kicked out of office in Nov. All the Senate has to do is run out the clock with Obama. The democrats did the same thing to Bush for 4 years.

Oh yeah, I totally spaced this guy. He is one of the last of the good and honest judges. Remember the Hispanic guy that Bush wanted to put on the bench? The democrats stalled that nomination for TWO years! He finally got so disgusted, he told Bush thanks but no thanks. IIRC, Estrada was his last name?
The democrats just hate when conservative minorities get a chance at a nomination of some sort.
They want all the minority nominations for their party. Sad thing is, all they have is bad people to nominate.
