The kids were all excited the other day. We had visitors in the front yard and I managed to get some photos.
In all we had four very young bucks. The oldest might have been a two year old, the rest were from last years fawn crop. My daughter wanted to know where the horns were and I got to explain about the velvet nobs on top of the deers head. She didn't believe me.
I saw a buck out the window the other day. He had about 6 inches of antler growing.
ReplyDeleteVery cool photos. But didn't your dog go nuts trying to get to them?
ReplyDeleteWe've had deer wander our neighborhood occasionally, anywhere from a single buck to group of 7 or 8. I got pictures of a buck one night, after it left our yard and went next door. I was backing up to get a wider view, and accidentally stepped on the cat's tail who had followed me over there. When she screeched, the deer took off and that was the end of that photo op.
I'll see if I can find them and post them somewhere or send 'em to you.
I put Bridget down in March. We are dogless right now.
ReplyDeleteSorry, man. I remember you writing that you put her down, but figured you'd probably have gotten a new one since then. My bad.
ReplyDeleteNo harm no foul buddy.
ReplyDeleteWe aren't ready to get a new dog yet.
