All in the Family featured the curmudgeonly Archie Bunker. Archie was television’s most famous grouch, blunt, blustering, straightforward and untouched by the PC crowd. He was the archetype of the conservative male. Michael desprately tried to reeducate him, but he persisted in his breviloquence.

Looking back at the last 40 years, we realize: ARCHIE WAS RIGHT!

About a year ago my sister, who lives in Arkansas, was talking with her four year old son, Bubba. He was asking her why all their relatives from Wisconsin talk funny and sound like their noses are plugged up.

“They think we have an accent,” she replied.

“But they have an accent, right?”, Brent asked. “They talk funny?”

“Everybody talks in different ways” she tried to explain. “To them, we sound like we talk very slow and all our words are d-r-a-w-n out.”

His eyes got big, and he whispered seriously, “Oh, no. You mean they hear funny too?”

I would think that the current choomer in the White House would be a great example of what happens to a brain on pot. If that isn't considered damage of some kind, I really don't know what else could be.

He has memory issues, has to have a teleprompter for the most basic of speeches, needs a lot of sleep, can't be bothered to do his job unless forced to. Real good example to use when somebody tells me that they have been smoking pot for 20 years with no problems.

Not buying it one bit. Something else to think about here. Tobacco smoke may store in the lungs of a smoker, but the poisons from pot settle in the body fat of the human body. I wonder what they would find out if somebody brave enough did a study comparing the number of women pot smokers to the incidence of breast cancer.

The female porch was designed to be the most fat concentrated area of a woman's body. Linda McCartney was a heavy pot smoker and died of breast cancer that metastasized into her lungs. So I have a real problem with libertarians who try to tell me that pot is harmless. It is not.
