All in the Family featured the curmudgeonly Archie Bunker. Archie was television’s most famous grouch, blunt, blustering, straightforward and untouched by the PC crowd. He was the archetype of the conservative male. Michael desprately tried to reeducate him, but he persisted in his breviloquence.

Looking back at the last 40 years, we realize: ARCHIE WAS RIGHT!

They Once Made Men in America

Desmond T. Doss Sr., 87, died March 23 at his home in Piedmont, Alabama. He served as an Army medic on Okinawa during World War II saving more than 75 wounded soldiers at great personal peril. He was the first conscientious objector to receive the Medal of Honor.

His religious and moral convictions kept him from carrying a gun, his patriotism kept him from staying home, his sense of honor compelled him to do his best. His citation here. Some men find a way to do their duty to God and Country, without compromising their beliefs.

Once apon a time, men like this were common in America.
