All in the Family featured the curmudgeonly Archie Bunker. Archie was television’s most famous grouch, blunt, blustering, straightforward and untouched by the PC crowd. He was the archetype of the conservative male. Michael desprately tried to reeducate him, but he persisted in his breviloquence.

Looking back at the last 40 years, we realize: ARCHIE WAS RIGHT!

BJW--Love Dress

A mother-in-law stopped by unexpectedly the recently married couple’s house. She knocks on the door, then immediately walks in. She is shocked to see her daughter-in-law lying on the couch, totally naked.

“What are you doing?” she asked.

“I’m waiting for Jeff to come home from work,” the daughter-in-law answered.

“But you’re naked!” the mother-in-law exclaimed.

“This is my love dress,” the daughter-in-law explained.

“Love dress? But you’re naked!”

“Jeff loves me to wear this dress! It makes him happy and it makes me happy.”

The mother-in-law on the way home thought about the love dress. When she got home she got undressed, showered, put on her best perfume and expectantly waited for her husband, lying provocatively on the couch.

Finally her husband came home. He walked in and saw her naked on the couch.

“What are you doing?” he asked.

“This is my love dress,” she replied.

“Needs ironing,” he says” “What’s for dinner?”

That is a husband who deserves no dinner other than maybe a bowl of oatmeal. Or possibly hot steam.
I give MIL an A for trying though. Excellent joke.

    It's always the man's fault, isn't it? :-)

    1. It is if he ignores what she is trying to do to spice up their relationship. If he was the one trying the "love suit" routine and she ignored it, then I would say the same about her too.

That is a sad relationship if one or the other ignores a really big hint their spouse is trying to give them.

Just so you know, I am an equal opportunity blamer. (grin)

    Nice!

"Needs ironing...it's got a few spots on it here and there...you can see where it's been mended a few times."

Doubt that a man's 'love suit' would fare much better over the years, though....
