All in the Family featured the curmudgeonly Archie Bunker. Archie was television’s most famous grouch, blunt, blustering, straightforward and untouched by the PC crowd. He was the archetype of the conservative male. Michael desprately tried to reeducate him, but he persisted in his breviloquence.

Looking back at the last 40 years, we realize: ARCHIE WAS RIGHT!

CO, Hell, Handbasket etc

The devil went down to Colorado look'n for freedom to steal, he was in a bind and way behind, and look'n to make a deal, or so the Denver Post reported two weeks ago.  Some note able quotes for that article:
"I was shocked that he called," Ferrandino said. "He said he thought the bills could help them on a national level."
"He said it would send a strong message to the rest of the country that a Western state had passed gun-control bills," Exum said.

The "he" both men are referring to is of course Joe Biden.  I'm not calling Joe the Devil.  Everyone knows that Obummer is the anti-Christ and Joe is more properly referred to as "Obama's Bitch" than the prince of darkness.  Incidental "Obama's Bitch" is also Speaker of the House John Boehner's Secret Service code name.  Don't believe me?  I guess you haven't been watching the budget debates for the last four years.  Go ahead and put me to the test.  Call the Congressional Budget Office (202) 226-2600, ask for "Obama's Bitch" and see if they don't transfer you to Boehner's office.

Back to Colorado.  I like Colorado.  It's a beautiful state, great skiing, great mountains.  The only downside is that when California started going to pot in the 1970's all the liberals headed to Colorado to avoid paying taxes for the "free stuff" that they voted for in California.  Colorado is also the home of the trust fund hippie, Boulder being their home city.

This year Colorado decriminalized pot.  Now they're in the process of criminalizing guns.  Not just those "bad" black guns, they're going after hunters and trap shooters too.  It's not an incremental gun grab either, they want to take away as much freedom as they can, as fast as possible.

DENVER (CBS4)A popular hunting shotgun could be banned under one of the bills moving through the state Capitol.
“They’re coming after the standard shotgun,” Brophy told CBS4 Political Specialist Shaun Boyd.
Brophy says if Democrats succeed in passing a bill limiting large capacity magazines in Colorado, they’ll outlaw the most popular selling firearm for hunting.
“Hundreds of thousands of pheasant hunters are probably going to be carrying around a gun they won’t be able to replace after July 1 this year,” he said.

We'll have to see what happens, but the bill is in the Senate and the Governor has promised to sign it into law.  It doesn't look good.

    *sigh*

I always thought we'd be one of the stalwarts against whom these attempts were doomed to fail.

    Seems I was wrong.
