All in the Family featured the curmudgeonly Archie Bunker. Archie was television’s most famous grouch, blunt, blustering, straightforward and untouched by the PC crowd. He was the archetype of the conservative male. Michael desprately tried to reeducate him, but he persisted in his breviloquence.

Looking back at the last 40 years, we realize: ARCHIE WAS RIGHT!

Expenses

My brother was recently launched into the "real world" and shocked by the expenses that came with it. He was complaining about the high cost of auto insurance.

"If you got married," teased my dad, "the premium would be lower."

He smiled. "That would be like buying an airline just to get free peanuts."

Every family needs to have one of these fellows in their midst. My son waited until his mid thirties to get married. Found himself a keeper who actually likes cooking.

Don't know how old your brother is but if he is still a young one, good for him. Dad will be a lot happier for his son if his son finds himself an actual good woman.

It's not really about my brother.

My younger brother married a gal right after college and they are having kids like rabbits.

Cool! Good for them. I just loved the response the young man had.
