All in the Family featured the curmudgeonly Archie Bunker. Archie was television’s most famous grouch, blunt, blustering, straightforward and untouched by the PC crowd. He was the archetype of the conservative male. Michael desprately tried to reeducate him, but he persisted in his breviloquence.

Looking back at the last 40 years, we realize: ARCHIE WAS RIGHT!

Count Down

Just two more days after today.

I've been adequately pestered by Mrs Ipsa to give some hints.  There are three things that should/could happen on Friday.

Two of them are nearly identical.

The first thing to happen chronologically should happen shortly after midnight.

The first thing is related to the other two things but is independent of it.

The second two things are depend on events outside of my control.

All three things will make me happy.

One of the things I don't want to happen.

I'm sure that this is now as clear as mud.

  1. I said they were hints, not helpful hints.

One thing my years of reading over at Vox's has taught me is to read carefully. And if need be, read again.
With that training under my belt, a lot of comment reading on other websites has lost a lot of pleasure for me.

As a group, there is a lot of ignorance out there among the sheeple.

So yeah, I totally anticipated the hints you would give would be no help. So, is the Mrs. ripping her hair out yet?

    On an unrelated note.

First, we went out Sunday afternoon for about 45 minutes, just before the rain, and found a half dozen morels.
Thought about you as we ate them. They were excellent.
The kids are excited to go look again after this current rainy spell ends and it warms up a little.

Second, I wish you would join us on FB on the Dread Ilk page.

Lots of fun, and I miss your comments.

Third, traveling through Iowa anytime soon, I'd like to see you again. I'm hoping to go west this fall, we shall see. I'm thinking about driving to Texas to a get together with some of the ILK on July 9,10.

  4. Susan,

After I blogged about it she pretended to forget it. Otherwise she would still be teasing me.

    Farmer Tom,

Long time no see. Its great to have you drop by. I'm not on Face Book. I try to keep my on line and therefore searchable profile to a minimum. I won't even join LinkedIn, even though it probably would be a help for me professionally.

I'm jealous of the morels. I've yet to find even a little patch of them in Wyoming. Folks say we have them, but no one has ever told me where. Which is what you'd expect.
