All in the Family featured the curmudgeonly Archie Bunker. Archie was television’s most famous grouch, blunt, blustering, straightforward and untouched by the PC crowd. He was the archetype of the conservative male. Michael desprately tried to reeducate him, but he persisted in his breviloquence.

Looking back at the last 40 years, we realize: ARCHIE WAS RIGHT!

Unfair?

Students taught: It's unfair to be white.   Despite the longstanding message that a person’s skin color should not matter in America, students at the University of Wisconsin – Superior are now being taught that it’s “unfair” to be white.
It’s part of a controversial effort known as the Unfair Campaign, designed to teach America’s youth that “systems and institutions are set up for us [whites]” and as such are “unfair.”
One of the main slogans for the campaign is: “It’s hard to see racism when you’re white.”
Brace yourselves.  Are you sitting down?  No liquids in your mouth that you might spew on the computer?  Good.

I agree.   Its unfair to be white in America.  It's totally unfair, we hold jobs, start business, pay the taxes and are expected to accept the blame for every damn problem that someone has.  It's unfair that we can't walk down streets in major cities for fear of being robbed or killed.  It's unfair that we are the target of mob violence for no other reason than our race.  It's unfair we have to foot the bill to pay for schools, programs, government grants, and make work jobs, that we as whites can't participate in.

After graduating from college I went to a job fair.  At that fair, several universities who were advertising their Master Degree programs had tables.  I hadn't decided if I was going to go get a job, or go to grad school.  I talked to several different school representatives.  Most all of the school recruiters were very friendly and eager to talk about your academic interests and the requirements to attend their school.  Even if I could have gotten into an Ivy school, there was no way I had the cash for it.

I headed towards the schools I could afford.  The first big ten school I came to was the University of Michigan.  An MBA or a JD from UofM isn't as prestigious as one from Harvard, but its not going to hurt you on your resume either.  I could actually afford UofM so that was a plus.  The UofM table was represented by a professionally dressed black women.  She was very nice to the group of Asian students who were ahead of me in line.  When it was my turn I politely asked her for the admission requirements.  That was as far as I got.  She took one look at me in my interview suit and tie and informed me that, "you are the wrong color, to attend MY school".  She refused to give me an application, or talk to me further.

If you live and work in the state of Michigan, you pay income taxes to the state.  Those taxes are used in part, to fund the University of Michigan.  At that point I had been paying income taxes to the state of Michigan for over 6 years, as well as sales tax etc.  The University of Michigan didn't care about my grades, or my GMAT, LSAT scores.  They only cared that I was white, and that fact alone kept me from getting an application.  So I left.

“It’s hard to see racism when you’re white.”  Not really, we see it when we apply for government jobs and grants, university educations, and when we file our taxes.  My children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will see it when they are still paying the interest on this generations debt, that was run up by a black president to buy Obama phones, give cash for clunkers and expand welfare.  I agree, its unfair to be white in America.

  2. I don’t get what you’re upset about. Is it this post or Vox’s? How is it racist to make an observation about race related issues?
