A first grade teacher collected well-known proverbs. She gave each child in her class the first half of a proverb and asked them to come up with the remainder of the proverb. Their insight may surprise you.

Laugh and the whole world laughs with you, cry and ... you have to blow your nose.
Those are good. Some I've seen before, but others are new (to me).

A wedding is just a chance to get dressed up and have everything all about her with gifts and she gets to tell people what gifts to buy (bridal registry). What girl wouldn't want that?
My favorite is the last one. And its too bad that penny candy no longer exists. One of the favorite treats of my childhood was being about to take 5 pennies and get stinking goofy on a sugar rush. You could get a lot of candy for 5 pennies back then. The selection was pretty nice too.
